New favorite Mediterranean restaurant! My mom and I stopped by here for lunch yesterday and were so happy we got to try this finally! My mom got a falafel wrap and I got a chicken kabob plate and we split a side of hummus. All of the food was cooked perfect with so much flavor and was presented beautifully! The hummus is fresh and flavorful, the chicken kabob was moist and not dry, the salad, rice, and pickled vegetables were delicious and the portions were so large I was able to split mine into two different meals. We also ordered a side of baklava which was the most fresh baklava I've ever had. The woman working the front register was very kind and accommodating , the restaurant is very clean and has a clean and neat ambiance. 5 stars for Risen, we cannot wait to return!

Great food, great service! I would suggest a few slight changes to make it a bit more welcoming. I like that there is outside seating, but they could make it more like a nice cafe with some plants, maybe even plants on the tables (fake or fresh flower) They only offer coffee, no lattes, etc. To be called a bakery leads one to think perhaps one could have a bakery item & latte or espresso. A place to linger, but the ambience is vs lacking in any lingering atmosphere. Great pastries, but no real cafe feel. I would like to come back with my girlfriends, enjoy a special coffee & croissant , but it just doesn't exude a lingering feel.

I was hungry but didn't want anything heavy (processed). I came and ordered the Italian eggplant sandwich which was absolutely amazing!!! It was fresh and had the perfect flavor. I will definitely return to try other things on the menu as it was one of the best eggplant dishes I've had.

Outside: There is a good amount of outdoor seating! It's supper easy to find, and there is a lot of parking! Inside: There's only a few tables, but that's okay. I went at lunch time and a lot of people were taking stuff to go! So I don't think that should be an issue. Food: The sandwich was nothing special, we wouldn't get it again. But the falafel plate was so yummy! It was all so good. It says that you have to pay for refills so just keep that in mind. The baklava was a little pricy for us, it was good but expensive. Service: The woman who took our order was helpful, and answered all of the questions that we had.

Had a chance to have late breakfast the first meal of the day!!! Was highly recommended by other Elite Yelpers!!! This family owned cafe offers a variety of tasty and flavorful Mediterranean and European pastries and cuisine. Friendly staff and took our orders with that welcoming smile !!! My ultimate favorite is the BAKLAVA pastries !! They were not as sweet as I imagined but still good! Everything prepared here including their all freshly baked Pita Bread are house-made. Fresh Meat and produce are delivered daily with no preservatives!! The BREAKFAST BURRITO served with flour tortilla stuffed with Filet Mignon steak slices, scrambled eggs, shredded cheese, crisp hashbrowns, carmalized onions, sundried tomatoes, and a side salsa dip

Cute shop in the corner. I came here a month ago and met up with couple of friends for breakfast. I ordered French Croissant sandwich (huge portion) and Mint Lemonade. The service was great, and the food and the drink were delicious. I got a chance to try their dessert - baklava - Yum! Definitely coming back to try their lunch/dinner entrees.

Risen Bakery and Grill is conveniently located on 9th Street and Benson Ave in Upland. I am grateful to my Y* friend who recommended this Mediterranean restaurant to a group of us Y* friends. Thank you my friend! I have been here on a few occassions now. I can't get enough of this place. Their chicken/filet mignon kabobs, rice, salad, pita bread, hummus, and garlic sauce were amazingly tasty. Big chunks of moist chicken and filet mignon. If you get the combo plate, you can get double chicken or mix of chicken + filet mignon... this is a really good deal! Good portions in everything. Falafel was good, too. Flavors were top notch all around. And last, but not least, they make out of this world baklava... they are light, crispy, not heavily sweet... just so yummy! Best baklava I have ever eaten hands down. My favorites are no topping baklava and pistachio baklava. The dark chocolate, white chocolate, and pistachio sauce baklava were a bit sweeter IMHO. Their San Sebastian cheesecake was delicious, too. Compliments to the owners for sharing their great passion on fantastic tasting Mediterranean foods and desserts. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Owners and staff are super friendly, nice, and helpful. Prices are very reasonable. They offer catering. Ambiance is wonderful. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Limited parking in front and back. I will be back for more deliciousness and yumminess. Come on out and support Risen Bakery and Grill! They are a gem that is a must try.

What a great establishment! Visited for the first time with a group of friends. The owner really went out of his way to accommodate us as soon as we pulled into the tight parking lot. What great service right from the start. First impressions.. amazing! Walking in from the back parking area there's a few steps as opposed to the front where there's a step free entrance. Bright and modern very clean and organized. The outdoor patio is a great space for larger groups. Inside are bar stools and tables. Greeted with a warm welcome and bright smiles. The menu is easy to navigate through, desserts are displayed to view while ordering. A gracious friend treated our table to baklava! A delectable dessert to add for that grand finale. Drinks include fountain sodas, bottled beverages, coffee, tea and lemonade. Apart from the Mediterranean dishes there's also a choice of burger with fries if you're feeling classic. A solid choice for Mediterranean. Creamy hummus with bold flavor. Rice was well seasoned and falafel was crispy on the outside with a tender center. The pita was perfect bite after bite, scoop after scoop. Don't underestimate that zesty side of salad it really packs a flavor punch that cuts through to tie everything together in perfect harmony.
